Muskeg – a type of northern landscape characterised by a wet environment, vegetation and peat deposits; swamp or bog consisting of a mixture of water and partly dead vegetation, often covered by a layer of sphagnum or other mosses; a peat-forming ecosystem found in several northern climates, most commonly in Arctic and boreal areas; terrain characterised by such swamps.
