Calcine – educe, oxidize, or desiccate by roasting or exposing to strong heat; to heat to a high temperature but without fusing in order to drive off volatile matter or to effect changes (such as oxidation or pulverization); to heat a substance so that it is oxidised, reduced, or loses water;  to oxidise as a result of heating; to expel by heating volatile matter as carbon dioxide, water, or sulphur, with or without oxidation;  a product (such as a metal oxide) of calcination or roasting.
