Condignity –  merit, worthiness;  condition of being condign; merit described in scholastic theology as earned in distinction from that which is given; merit acquired by works, which can claim reward on the score of general benevolence;  merit acquired by works performed in a state of grace and having a just claim on such rewards as heavenly glory.
