Saturday soapbox

Saturday’s soapbox is yours to use as you will – within the bounds of decency and absence of defamation. You’re welcome to look back or forward, discuss issues of the moment, to pontificate, ponder or point us to something of interest, to educate, elucidate or entertain, amuse, bemuse or simply muse, but not abuse.

We cherish our friends, not for their ability to amuse us, but for ours to amuse them. – Evelyn Waugh:

We are 70 days out from a general election and the National Paty manderins in their infinite wisdom have decided to go all out to make the current Government look competant when compared to themselves

So much about this makes me sad, some makes me angry and a lot makes me frustrated. There are so many good people in the party and caucus, there is good policy that would make a much-needed positive difference to NZ but any good is being drowned out by the mess.

If the party cannot manage itself, how can it manage a nation?

Right wing parties like National try to compare a nation to a family, especially in matters such as debt and loan payments. Well, they are truly living up to that. There is nothing more torn apart than a family as Xmas approaches.

Buh Bye National – Labour to govern alone.
