Why it’s so hard to lose weight

While the media is full of stories about the obesity epidemic, there is a growing body of research showing diets don’t work and a move to intuitive eating instead.

So why is it so hard to lose weight?

Generally good article you link to. I advise all my patients to avoid diets but aim to eat less. A food diary is helpful to get a handle on what you normally eat, so that you can rationally cut down. After that you don’t normally need one. I recommend cutting around 10% of your general intake and 50% of (sometimes all) snacks. That, and moderate exercise (a 1-2 km walk 3-4 times a week) should stabilize weight and start a very slow reduction. It often takes years to get to goal weight but it avoids your body going into starvation mode (as per the video)
