Word of the day

Gehenna – hell; any place of extreme torture or suffering; a place or state of misery.

One Response to Word of the day

  1. The explanation of the word Gehenna is very limited, only taking in mind the false presentation of many christians who do not keep to the Biblical meaning of the word.

Gehenna, sheol, sheool, hades are words to denote the abode of the dead, what in contemporary English would be the grave (or sepulchre). In god’s Word, the Bible, gehenna is not at all a place were people would be tortured for ever. Jesus after he died was also put in the grave and as such resided three days in gehenna or sheol, “the hell” before he was taken out of the dead by his heavenly Father, Jehovah God.
