365 days of gratitude

I have only very vague memories of learning to read but strong memories of the joy of accomplishment when I’d learned well enough  to do it for pleasure.

Now, it’s only when faced with something written in a foreign language that I have any real understanding of the frustration and difficulties that face people who can’t read.

Today I’m grateful for the ability to read and the education and entertainment and escapism it provides.
