    I’ll give Andrei 3.5 as his answer to #1 was technically correct, it wasn’t what I envisaged or expected. To learn more there is an excellent book “The Map that Changed the World” by Simon Winchester who has written many other excellent books on a variety of subjects.

    He was a geologist who created the first ever geological map of a country (England).

    2. What was his nickname?

    William “Strata” Smith

    3. He spent some time in prison. What was his crime?

    He was in debtor’s prison after being unable to pay his debts as a result of his geological map being “stolen” by competitors and him not being paid for his services.

    4. He is regarded as being the first what?

    He was the first Geologist

    5. He is regarded as the “Father” of what science?
