Wise build on rock, wise vote for rock

So much for Labour’s promise of positivity:

Prime Minister Bill English has responded to having his personality compared to that of a rock by Labour’s deputy leader – saying their new positive approach under Jacinda Ardern “lasted about three days”.

“And the reason is because Labour is still Labour. They have always had a pretty negative, limited view about what can be achieved in New Zealand, we have a positive view,” English told media after his party’s transport announcement in Auckland. . .

The National Party responded to the jibe by pointing out this rock got us through the GFC and back into surplus.

This reminded me of a song I learned at Sunday School, the wise man built his house upon the rock . . . *

We need rock-solid government, built on strong foundations not the instability of the opposition circus in a coalition built on sinking sand.

The wise build on rock and will vote for rock.

* The song is based on a parable Jesus told which can be found in Matthew 7: 24-27 and Luke 6: 48-49

One Response to Wise build on rock, wise vote for rock

  1. I’m sure that, as a practising Christian (Roman Catholic) Bill will be flattered but a little embarrassed to be compared to the original “solid rock”

On Christ the solid rock we will stand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
On Christ the solid rock we will stand,
We’ll climb on your back, take us to higher ground.
