    1. He was the first man to calculate the circumference of Earth, plus he “invented” the discipline of Geography, including the terminology that is still in use.

    2. Working independently, Bolyai in Transylvania and Lobachevsky in prvincial Russia, they developed non-Euclidean Geometry, which used parallel lines.
