Quote of the day

I think goodness is about how person behaves to person, and also person to world, to nature. –  Vikram Seth who celebrates his 65th birthday today.

I fully support this quote and wonder how this quote can be applied to the recent development with Todd Barclay. Person to person relationships seem to have become one where power and money can dictate and the behaviour is very questionable. I would be interested in your own views on this Ele when the grass roots membership of Clutha Southland are very unhappy:

This is the most accurate, and balanced, view on the matter I’ve seen: http://www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2017/06/about_todd_barclay.html

Thanks, Elle. I thought you may have had your own knowledge. I do know some of the people that have been on the receiving end of Todd’s behaviour and have witnessed it myself. What disappoints me most about it, as I said in my blog post, was the lack of leadership from the top of the party and the treatment of long serving staff. David Farrar’s piece is not a balanced one and Todd manipulated his election, and this is being challenged by local members. Todd managed to get most of his family elected as delegates and those who didn’t support him received threats if they attended the selection meeting.

Your knowledge is based on media reports. I know more about both sides and stand by my view that David’s comments are accurate and balanced.

Sorry, Elle, I live in Southland and have known Glenys for many years. I also personally witnessed one of Todd’s melt-downs at a public meeting.

Buying someones silence to cover an illegal act and also slandering them in public to cover ones own mistakes is the lowest of the low.

Giving Todd the benefit of the doubt because he was young did not help him understand right from wrong at all.

    Really sad.

What ‘illegal’ act are you referring to invercargillgreen? Recording someone surreptitiously is not illegal.
