I feel I shouldn’t claim the virtual stone fruit as I didn’t post the questions until late last night, but I will claim them thanks Ele.

    1. William Smith, 1769 – 1839, was responsible for what creation?
The first geological map of a country (England)

    2. What was his “nickname”?
    Not surprisingly “Strata” Smith

    3. Prior to his creating this item, he spent time in what institution?
    King’s Bench Debtor’s Prison

    4. What was his childhood and life long interest that got him started on this project?
    Collecting fossils

    5. What science is he credited with founding?

The questions and answers all come from an excellent book that I have just finished reading “The Map that Changed the World” by Simon Winchester. Another of his books, “The Surgeon of Crowthorne” provided last week’s questions.
