What great questions as I have actually been to Bayeux and seen it in their museum. Even though it shows a Norman conquest it was actually made in England and was commissioned by William’s half-brother, Bishop Odo.

    1. It is an embroidered cloth and not woven.

    2. It depicts the events leading up to the Norman invasion of England in 1066 and the battle.

    3. I seem to remember that there are 58 scenes although about 6 metres of it are believed to have been lost so I assume that originally there were more. The whole tapestry is just on 70 metres long and about 1/2 metre wide (or high).

    4. 1064 – 1066

    5. Without doubt it would be.
