366 days of gratitude

I’ve spent the last couple of days visiting small businesses in Canterbury.

They included manufacturing, agriculture (where technological innovation and environmental protection were highlighted), hospitality, civil engineering and logistics.

The importance of workplace safety was a common theme as was the passion the owners had for their business and the value they placed on their staff.

The group I was with had been in Christchurch three years ago. We were very impressed by the progress that had been made since then and the positivity the people who spoke to us showed for their own businesses and the city.

It was a real privilege to get the access to these businesses, I’m grateful for that and the inspiration that came from them.

P.S.

The bus driver taking us round recognised my name and confessed he’s a regular reader of this blog. I’m grateful for his driving and reading too.
