Ante-natal classes are generally very good at preparing expectant parents for the birth of their babies.
However, there’s no amount of advice from professionals or other parents that can truly prepare you for what follows – bringing up your children, giving them roots and wings, then watching them fly.
No matter how good the theory, it can’t fully ready you for the practice of parenting.
All that not withstanding, what most parents do is good enough, and most children – usually because of though sometimes in spite of – their upbringings, do become good adults.
Today’s post has been prompted by a reminder that the bad examples which make the news do so because they are news and not the norm and I’m grateful for that.
