Friday’s answers

J. Bloggs posed the questions, gaining my thanks and if they’ve stumped us all a virtual box of apricots.

One Response to Friday’s answers

  1. J Bloggs says:

    1) Mark Twain

    2) Converting Temperature in Celsius to Farenheit

    3) In his original scale devised in 1742, Celsius created the first centigrade scale with the zero degree mark set at the boiling temperature of water and 100 degrees at the freezing point – the reverse of what came later. In 1743, the Frenchman Jean-Pierre Christan independently created a centigrade scale that had the freezing point of water as the zero point.

    4) Some like it hot

    5) While I’d quite happily settle for Andrei’s method, my wife would do untold mischief to me if I took it up, so I’ll stick with my daily swims (being fortunate enough to live within walking distance of a beach)
