1) An Oud is a musical instrument, somewhat similar to the lute

4) Character shoes are worn by Ballet dancers instead of the standard ballet slippers, usually as part of a specific costume for specific (often national) dances
5) A Pas de Deux is a dance for two dancers, normally seen in Ballet
(guess who has daughters in ballet classes….)

1. It is a middle eastern stringed instrument, similar in shape to a lute
2. It is a Greek dance but I’m not sure that it originated from there. Also, somewhere in the depths of my memory bank I think it is also known as the “butchers dance” but I could be wrong with that thought.
3. This is a little easier, it is a dance from the Caucasus region
4. They are a shoe which can be a tap dancing shoe amongst other things. They are worn by theatre actors when auditioning for a new role.
