Not a woman of great wisdom – her take on the Roman Polanski thing

Andrei, can I challenge you post a link to a woman (or women) whom you do consider to be of great wisdom?

    Genuine question.

  3. TraceyS says:

ps. I accept that it won’t be Metiria Turei.

Tracey in this age where women walk out of Parliament in a huff because of the Prime Ministers remarks over rapists, where a plethora of elderly men have found themselves before the courts for sexual encounters from decades ago – Bill Cosby, Rolf Harris, the coronation street guy, etc Cliff Richards, being the latestto find himself in this position – don’t you find it odd that Whoopie Goldberg defended a man who drugged then sodomised a thirteen year old girl.

It seems certain men will get a pass for what they did while others are crucified

Thank you, Andrei, I enjoyed reading that (and apologies for the late response).

I found this paragraph particularly interesting:

“Once a very noble-looking old man with a white beard came to Matrona and knelt down before her in tears: “My only son is dying.” Matushka bent to him and asked in a low voice: “How bad did you do it to him? To death or not?” “To death.” “Go away from me, you shouldn’t have come to me.””

So she did not help the child even though she must have wanted to. Saving the child would have excused the parent and all others like him who have gone before and are still to come. It seems harsh but there is an important message in it I think.
