Thursday’s quiz

1. Who said: At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.?

2. Which of A.A. Milne’s characters . . . noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.  ?

3.  It’s reconnaissant in French,  grato in Italian, agradecido in Spanish and whakawhetai in Maori, what is it in English (hint – you’ll have the general idea from the first two questions but not the specific word).

4. What two lines precede this:  And I think to myself what a wonderful world; and who is best known for singing it?

5. What’s the first thing that comes into your mind for which you’re grateful?

Update – After Andrei’s answer I need to clarify I’m looking for the first two lines of the first verse in question 4.

  1. Andrei says:

    (1) –

    (2) Piglet – i think, sounds pigletish

    (3) Thankful

    (4) That depends – it is the refrain at the end of each verse of wonderful world made famous by Louis Armstrong

    The first verse is

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

But the lines from the other verses would make for a valid answer

    (5) That my kids are healthy and prospering

And a for cynical usage of the song in question 4, I cannot resist posting this – this movie I loved, it was due for English release about now but given the realities of current events……

3 Gratitude. Yes I did read the question and that is my answer. Sort of close I hope.
4 “I see trees of green red roses too
I see them bloom for me and for you”
Louie Armstrong from the movie Good Morning Viet Nam.
5 My best mate, friend, and lover of over 50 years who in spite of living with one of the least likable blokes I have ever known will still hold my hand on a street or a beach as we enjoy our solitude as one.

1 – I like it so much I googled it to find out – and now can’t answer but to say, of course.
    2 – piglet
    3 –
4 – I see trees of green, red roses too, I watch them bloom for me and for you. Known in our house as “the Daddy song”. I’ve sung this to my kids as a bedtime lullaby for the past 13 years (eldest 13 youngest 4).
5 – the joy of my family
