Misleading advertising

Trade Me has an advertisement:

Prime Minister of New Zealand.

Company: Internet Party
Location: Wellington, Wellington
Type: Full time, Permanent

That is misleading.

The position of Prime Minister might be permanent on Planet Dotcom where the man behind the Internet Party seems to live.

It’s not in New Zealand where it’s subject to the whim of the voters every three years.

THey tried the same stunt on Seek yesterday, apparently. It seems there so-called socail media and internet strategy is to spam legitimate business websites with the Internet party’s political advertising. I have reported the ad to Trademe, lets see how they respond.

Cheap stunt – but around 29000 views.
