Unbelievable – as we head into a major confrontation everybody is asleep.
Which is why our “leaders” will be able to convince us to serve the forces of darkness and chaos in the naive belief that what we are doing is correct when it is actually is not.
When John Kerry accuses Russia of doing something it is actually what America is doing.
They are trying to provoke Russia into a confrontation.
This isn’t about “Freedom and Democracy” for Ukraine, that died long ago when it was wrecked by Americans using millions of dollars to bring down an elected Government and replace it with puppets, puppets who are entirely unacceptable to most of the country which has descended into civil war.
Ukraine as a Nation is finished just like Yugoslavia destroyed by the same wicked people for the same wicked reasons.
They do not care whose blood they spill, whose homes and livelihoods they wreck to advance their agendas.
I’ve watched this from the beginning, how Russia’s aid to a financially beleaguered Neighbour, a $15 billion dollar loan and further discounts on its already discounted gas has been transformed into a major crisis which could end up destroying us all.
And I’ll call it for what it is unadulterated evil.
Of course we will give moral support to the real villains in this piece, maybe more than moral support.
All Russia has sought has been a peaceful and friendly neighbour on its Western border and America has gone out of its way to make sure that it hasn’t got that, they have installed a hostile Government and ignited a civil war to make sure that it doesn’t.
EVIL!!!!!
And real life people are dying in their homes as we speak – unimportant people with funny names but real people never the less
Sergei Tikhonovich aged 57
Pavel Pavelko aged 42
Aleksandr Sigarov aged 24
Died Easter Sunday 2014 (an unholy action on a holy day) in their own hometown of Slavyansk,
Apologies – go back to sleep, there are more important things to think about, like Jodi Fosters “wedding” to her girlfriend

Andrei – I am one of the many who don’t understand what’s happening over there and why. That shouldn’t stop us at least acknowledging that real people are dying.

It amazes me that amongst all the turmoil there is political polling http://www.euronews.com/2014/04/23/ukraine-polls-suggest-poroshenko-may-win-presidential-election/.
It should not be a surprise given that an election is near there, as it is here. However, in New Zealand we tend to regard the polls as nothing but a bit of fleeting, and very light, entertainment. As such it is hard to imagine being bothered at a personal level about polls if your security and life were on the line. We don’t take politics seriously even now when there is time and space to do so, let alone if we were busy preparing ourselves and families for a massive upheaval.

Tracey – the “polls” are just propaganda to try and give the appearance of legitimacy to something that is totally illegitimate.
Three times the previous elected Government tried to solve the engineered crisis by building a coalition with the opposition to rule until elections could be held and three times those deals were sabotaged so it couldn’t happen.
Any candidates who do not meet the gnomes of Washington criteria have been charged with “separatism” have been ruled ineligible to run. Some have been physically detained.
The last things the promoters of “freedom and democracy” want here is a free a democratic decision by the people who actually live there.

To the mindless individual who gave me downticks because he/she is unprepared to think for him/herself.
Ask yourself these
Does the USA share a border with Ukraine?
Does the USA do any significant trade with Ukraine?
Does the USA have any historical associations with Ukraine?
No it doesn’t – so why the interest?
You see my ignorant friend there is no real border between Russia and Ukraine, there are farms with fields in Russia and Ukraine, towns with streets in Russia and Ukraine and probably even houses with some rooms in Russia and some in Ukraine.
And there is no difference between the people on each side of this border which stretches for hundreds and hundreds of miles because they have actually lived in the same fricken country for hundreds and hundreds of years, until 1991 to be precise.
And it is that undefendable border which attracts the people from the other side of the ocean to interfere with and destabilize Ukraine, that and the vast oil and gas reserves that belong to Russia and not to them and it is those they seek control over.
And they are prepared to blow up the whole world to get that

my wife picked up a Grab One voucher at Ranson Wines near Warkworth today. Very nice. We had a drive of about 1 1/2 hours from South West of Auckland to the winery and the traffic was pretty intense from 11am to 2pm on a Saturday. Note to the Govt. Hurry up and sort out the “holiday highway” before the muppets in the Gween Party turn us into a horse and cart country.

I hate to harp on Ele, but that is curious because we are at a seminal moment in human history – that might seem hyperbolic to you but it is so.
A big change is on the way one way or another – the history of the 21st century is being defined.
God knows what’s going to happen but file this comment away in your memory and see if I’m not wrong
