    5. I think that Winston got it pretty well right. After all, if he had died on November 30, 1939 (his 65th birthday) he would have been remembered as an interesting failure rather that the greatest Englishman of the 20th century.

    (1) A very Churchillian quote, he of course did exactly this when he took over as British PM in the darkest days of 1940 and somehow kept going til 1945 when the British people showed their gratitude that Britain still existed by voting him out.

    Still he had had some all night boozy sessions with Joseph Stalin along the way

    (2) Dr Lance O’Sullivan – I read that somewhere – I wonder where? I can’t quite put my finger on it
