Lost in translation?

We spotted this sign near a railway station in Holland.

Does Kiss & Ride mean to the Dutch what it means in English  or has something been lost in translation?

  1. “Kiss and ride” means what it says – it’s drop-off point like you get at airports where you can quickly stop and let your partner/child/whanau member get out and get on the train.

Ah – so simple. Thanks for that, David.

  3. What David says is the meaning that I know, which begs the question- what else could it mean?

Give the proximity to Amsterdam’s red light area I thought the sign might have something to do with mobile services of that nature. Blame that on the first editor I worked under who told me subs have to be on the look out for all sorts of interpretations of innocent words or statements.
