Tonight’s moon is a super one, a perigee, when the full moon coincides with the its closet approach to the earth.
It’s up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons this year.
My point-and-shoot camera doesn’t do it justice, but for the record, here it is:

My moon is the same size as it always has been.
It did look spectacular though rising over the hill being as it is closer than usual and can be contrasted with earthly surroundings

It was especially bright when I had to get up at 2am this morning to answer the phone; which was a wrong #@%^&+! number!!

I didn’t even notice the bloody moon when some mung bean hit the wrong man with a chair from behind at 0230 this morning, getting three of us and the Prime Dr out of the happy place.
And to cap that off, the guy wasn’t having it off with the perps missus, he was not guilty on this occasion.
Anette King’s theory on the full moon did cross my mind though.

It looks best if you capture it with a really long zoom against a terrestrial object that is also a long distance away. Eg:
