    What symbolically does the ‘X’ in Xmas stand for?
    You answered: Christ
    Answer: Chris

    oh φ as the educated know the X in Xmas is not an X (ex) at all it is a Χ (chi) which looks like an X to the uninitiated particularly in the uppercase.

    And Χ has stood for Christ since, well perhaps not the year dot but very close to it when of course Greek was very widely spoken while the language of the Herald writers didn’t even exist yet in either oral or written form.
