    Macarbre – gruesome, ghastly, horrifying. That’s a very good description of an oil slick.

    To put it mildly, Hp. As this “event” unfolds I fear for what it holds for all of us, but especially for the people and wildlife of the nearby coast.

    The Christchurch Earthquake was a very bad thing

    This is a shipwreck. a nuisance yes but a catastrophe no (excepting for the master and the officer of the watch for whom it will be disastrous). Our coasts are littered with them.

    You’ld think that bunker oil was plutonium from all the hysteria but it aint and it will clear up in the fullness of time.

    A few dead birds and some dead fish are trivial compared to whats happening to the people in Bangkok right now or in East Africa.

    People need to get a grip and treat the drama queens in the media with the respect they are due which aint much
