2. Nematodes are worms or bugs that from time to time frequent Cotula or Maniatoto Weed Bowling Greens. They, along with Fairy Rings have the capacity to turn greenkeepers, who must all have short fuses to get elected to the position, into raving lunatics tearing what hair they have out. It is always best to give bowling Club Greenkeepers a wide bith if you hear there are nematodes in the green.

2) Any memeber of the phylum nematoda, sometimes referred to as roundworms. (Giving my first ever lecture on Monday, on animal diversity, so I’ll be talking about nematodes as they are likely the most understudied group of animals. As many as a million species are thought to exist, but only 15 000 or so described. If you wanted to discover a new species, there’s almost certainly a few undescribed nematodes waiting in your garden)

5) A trick? The big Vancouver is in British Columbia, but I’ve been through the little one in Washington state (on my way from Van. BC to Oregon). Since you said ‘state’ I guess you’re talking about the the little one, I don’t know where Alberta city might be though.
