Daidalos, which becomes Daedalus in Latin was a finer craftsman who built the Labyrinth where the Minotaur lurked.
He was shut up in a tower by King Minos so he wouldn’t reveal the secrets of the Labyrinth. So he crafted wings for himself and his son Icarus and they flew away.
Alas Icarus flew to close to the sun and the wax that held his wings in place melted and he tumbled into the sea.
Daedal = a fine word to add to my lexicon
