Boot not so funny on left foot

Remember the glee with which Labour greeted the leaking of Don Brash’s emails by Nicky Hager?

Remember similar hilarity when someone sneaked into a National Party cocktail party and recorded a conversation without the participants’ knowledge?

The laughter isn’t so loud, in fact they don’t think it’s funny at all now the leaking boot is on the left foot.

Cameron Slater has received a letter from the Labour Party warning him not to publish information which it says might contravene the Privacy Act.

Surely you mean the leaking of Don Brash’s emails too Nicky Hager?

And don’t you mean when someone walked into the cocktail party?
    Details eh!

Now was that humor, debate or the snafu of a petty point class 101.

I held a damp cloth over my face and with a liberal smear of Vicks under my nostrils went to The Standard for some laughs, I wasn’t disappointed.
One Headline was “Nats steal computer files”, HA HA HA , Call the police muppets, I think WO found them lying out in public in the open, on an insecure web site.
Any suggestion that this is equivalent to the accessing of the leader of the opposition’s private email correspondence is equal to blaming WW2 on the loss of a paper clip in Whitehall.

alleviates the feelings of loss with the Court Theater being in limbo.

I can but wonder if Mr Goff going to Greece for an economic update on a bankrupt economy, sorry his son’s wedding, safe in the knowledge that none of his colleagues have the cajones to roll him is stranger than Mrs King being so silent on the Darren Hughes saga, much of which was focussed on her Haitaitai home where she slept through it all down stairs. Ah the sleep of the just.
It could appear that Trev the Muss is the current “gang boss” now that is reality TV, “Fantasy Island Bay”, who will get thrown off the Island this week.

Anyway just popping over to “Gotcha” for an update.

Grave is right. The Standard was aglow last evening.

Methinks the Left (and Robert G) doth protes too much.

Perhaps he meant the leaking of emails “to” Nicky Hager, rather than “too” – details eh!

…I’m not sure the comparison between the reaction to the two events in very flattering for right-wing-types either.

    Ha!
    Silly me!
Yes, ‘to’. Those emails were leaked to Hager, not by Hager.
    Thanks YKITT.
This whole biz, imo, makes Slater look sleazy and those who are cheering him, gloated (don’t jump YKITT, I know ‘gloated’ isn’t usually a noun, but it suits here.)

    “Schadenfreude”

    Word of the day?

    JC
