    Hmmmm.

That would lead to an extremely boring diet in this weather me thinks..

You’re right Adam – no fruit and not many vegetables in my locality at the moment.

  3. You haven’t heard of preserving:canning, bottling, dehydrating, freezing etc?
I try to eat locally produced food wherever possible so I’m a locavore.

I have and I do, Robert. But I also like fresh fruit and vegetables the local supply of which is very limited in winter and never includes my favourite fruit – oranges.

I visited an orangery in the heart of Southland yeasterday Ele – lemons, limes and oranges and all covered in fruit. Put me (and you, by the sound of it) to shame! (I write for the NZ Gardener and should have an orangery of my own, but alas, I don’t!)
