How do you decide what artists to put up and why do you decide to omit others, Ele?
Just thinking the post prior to this has Little Eva effectively a one hit wonder then this – an example of one of the great movie pairings of the last century

Andrei, it’s a haphazard process.
I start with birthdays or anniversaries from the history post and go to youTube with the name.
Sometimes I’ve got a favourite in mind, sometimes I find something new, sometimes I can’t find anything I like and don’t do a post, sometimes I miss someone altogether – yesterday I overlooked Richard Rogers’ birthday.
I chose the Locomotion because when I was a student the Phys Ed school at Otago held dancing lessons & that was one of the dances we learned.
Rose Marie got the nod because I remembered going to the Oamaru Operatic Society’s performance of the show when I was a child.

That makes sense, Locomotion is an interesting song of course – a Carole King, Gerry Goffin thing which has had many outings by many different artists over the years.
I wonder whose version you danced to at the Phys Ed school?

It was 1976ish but not sure if it was a version from that time or an earlier one.
