1 Peru and Brazil… however its tributaries come from all sorts of places like Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, or Surinam to name but a whew!
2 Either the late George Burns, or my old London rugby mate, the late Dean Paddy…. he was a dentist.
3 The Kawerau and the Clutha… it flows over where I picked apricots for Hunter Denniston when I was a student…
    4 Maurice ‘Biker-Boy’ Williamson
5 The noise a petulant child makes, upon being told that McDonalds is off the menu for the next two weeks….
Cheers from Auckland Anniversary Day up at sunny Mangawhai where we have had our first rain since early December!! Wahoo…. showers all round tonight!

  2. JC says:

From memory No 5 is a knife (dirk).. a little bugger you could put in your sock, or certainly BBs bra.

  3. gravedodger says:

1 Equador, Peru, Columbia, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname and Fr Guiana.
    2 pass.
3 Kawara and Clutha. Remember standing above the confluence of these two majestic waters and watching a small piece of flax stick (my boyhood boat making material) trapped in the eddy under my feet in the early 50’s.
    4 Hon M. Williamson.
5 Skien Dhu as I would pronounce it is a dirk worn in the stocking of Highland dress. Had one in a previous life as a scottish country dancer. Retired now but Mrs GD still indulges on a weekly basis here in paradise.

  4. pdm says:

. Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuala, Ecuador, Columbia, Guyana, and maybe it starts in Peru.
    2. Steptoe.
    3. Clutha and Kawarau.
    4. Nathan Guy.
    5. I assume that is Gaelic so I have emailed my cousins on the Isle Of Lewis for the answere. Problem is they sometimes don’t open their emails for a week. But give me time because they will know.
