The 6mm of rain we got yesterday dampened the dust and the temperature has dropped in its wake.
We woke to a frost this morning.
Apropos of that, another moan about the early introduction of daylight saving:
Clocks go forward this coming Sunday. It’s too soon, it’s too cold.
We’ve got only 12 hours of daylight at this time of year. It doesn’t matter what the clocks say, it isn’t summer yet.

Totally agree, HP. Just as the mornings are starting to lighten, we’re plunged back into darkness again — while the extended evenings are still too cold to enjoy them outside.
Labour Wknd is the obvious choice to start — not only for the light-morning issue, but also the extra day’s holiday to allow for the missing hour of sleep (primarily – but not exclusively! – for kids). That would see us fitting in with most of Australia, too.
That perennial waste of space Peter Dunne changed it – and *still* managed to bugger it up.
Fancy that. 😉
