What will they be singing

In his interview with Jamie McKay on the Farming Show yesterday, Phil Goff said David Shearer has taken a guitar on the Labour caucus bus tour.

What do you think they’ll be singing?

Stand By Your Man, or perhaps Yesterday . . . ?

  1. Maybe, perhaps they will be busking to raise some cash.

  3. Paul says:

    Nowhere Man?

  4. Inventory2 says:

I’m sure there’s a Queen fan or two there

    “I’m the invisible man…”

There was an actual clip on Breakfast this morning and they were singing, Take Me Home, Country Roads, as they rolled into Taranaki. The spectacle was truly awful to behold. Perhaps however they are more harmless on a bus.

I nominate the Eagle’s “Wasted Time.”

  6. Talking Heads ‘We’re on the road to nowhere.’

Now, there is really vulgar one that goes
‘Four and twenty virgins, went to Inverness.’

Of course, Doc Cox has the one that best sums up the Liarbour Party
    “I’m a *anker, I’m a ……”

  7. Paul Tremewan says:

    Surely, Last Train to Clarksville????

  8. pdm says:

Paul – do we not need a bit of licence her to make it:

    `Last bus from Clarksville’.

  9. Paul Tremewan says:

I was just building up to that! And of course if they had have gone to Ch’ch instead of N/Plymouth they could have been belting it out to the strains of ‘ We’re all going on a Sumner holiday…” another great bus song. Has anyone done ‘bus-kers, yet?… Definition of Busker: a person who entertains people for money in public places (as by singing or dancing), usually while asking for money.[Websters]

  10. pdm says:

Bus-kers – you got it bang on there Paul. In their case the last line would be – `while taking other peoples money’.

  11. Lawrence of Otago says:

    I hear
“There were 43 red bottles sitting on the wall…”
