More seriously, I can’t see anywhere in this fellow’s CV any evidence that he has ever coached a winning side. Perhaps NZ Cricket want to ‘transition’ our chaps slowly, so as to avoid stress.

Inv2 as you well know I am a keen follwere of NZ cricket but have never been able to stretch to supporting the Hurricanes. I will reserve judgement until I see how many players from outside Wellington and Taranaki are in the 22 on a regular basis in 2009 before stepping that far.
Sorry for slighlty highjacking this thread HP but the Hurricanes are a sore point (since their creation) with this HB lad. I much prefer the Highlanders at this stage.

I have to agree with the newspapers’ headline, the haka is trashed to dead… these days even the pet day at the local primary school hidden away at the other side of the black stump is opened with a haka…with all three students in the frontline….
Keep this display of strenght, courage and proud for those special moments so we all feel proud is we see a haka preformed instead of crinching away of embarrassment of yet an other haka

Im with dutchie down south. And if other countries do not want the haka performed in their countries why do we persist. I can imagine what would happen if they insisted on performing something in NZ that we didnt want. The screams of “culturally insensitive”would be deafening!
