The ever accelerating speed that time appears to pass by was explained with logic by an old sage to me some years ago.
At 5 years old a year is one 5th or 20% of life lived.. or more accurately around 50/60% of cognitive life
At 50 it is 1/50th or 2%, at 70, 1 month is little more than 0.1%.

And it just gets worserer.
