And the word uxorious describes a husband who is excessively fond of a wife is far more common. What does that tell us about the relative fondness of husbands and wives to each other?
Just that women are more likely to recognise fondness from their husband and to talk about it with others. Men, alternatively, often allow expressions of fondness by their wife to go right on by…and are less likely to talk about it when they do notice!
