Oikophobia –  fear of the familiar; the disposition, in any conflict, to side with ‘them’ against ‘us’, and the felt need to denigrate the customs, culture and institutions that are identifiably ‘ours. ; a fear of houses, homes, or being stuck in a house.

    Gotta say Alf was surprised to learn this meaning of the word. He had thought oikophobia was a fear of having to sit near oiks,a condition which afflicts him when the House is sitting and the Opposition benches are taken over by boorish Greens, lefties and the Peters Party.
