Labour’s decision to have no campaign launch is possibly the first time in history that a political party has given up the opportunity to get a wee bit of free publicity.
It might be lack of money, it might be the inability to muster sufficient troops, it might be fear that a campaign launch would do more harm than good.
Whatever it is, it’s a peculiar strategy and the launch isn’t the only thing that is missing from Labour’s campaign.
The top two inches are missing from the photos of several candidates on the party’s hoardings.
Is it artistic perspective, or a subliminal message about the intellectual rigor that’s missing from the party as evidenced by its campaign strategy and back to the 70s policy?

Great petty post, Ele!
This is gonna be a great campaign, with heavy duty attacks like these happening already!
So annoying that Goff’s face isn’t on the billboards! You could have had a field day if his tie was slightly crooked.
Eh!
Now here is a campaign ad with pizzazz
It’s pathetic the way Labour is commencing its campaign. Even the Dems for SC are having an opening event. It’s the time you focus on the party and its leader, hopefully for the political party, the next PM.
Labour have abandoned that, hoping that their “message or is it “missage” might get thru.I’m afraid Labour will have a lot of trouble as JK is coming away with positive feedback from the RWC, the country just wants to get back to normal after the rugby.
Did people notice the cheering from the crowd at the end of the RWC cup ceremony when John Key’s name was introduced. At an election that can be quite dangerous, in many cases attracting boos and catcalls.PG must be worried about that.
Labour has to inflict a ko blow but in the current environment I don’t see that happening.
Strange at the last 2-3 elections Auntie Helen was posted as the annointed Labour saint following Joan of Arc. Not this time !!!
