Yes. When I saw the sign, I immediately wondered what a parent who had lost a son or daughter would feel about it.
But even taken in the sense it was originally intend – that men are always immature and girls grow up too quickly – it is offensive to both sexes. To men for implying we never grow up. To women for implying that they turn into harridans when they mature.
My personal reaction was to be disgusted that they couldn’t come up with something less hacknied and stereotyped.
